The Meal Planner That Fills Your Walmart Cart
MindyCart is the meal planner that actually builds your Walmart cart. Tell Mindy what you want to eat this week in a chat, and she plans dinners with overlapping ingredients, consolidates the shopping list, and hands you a pre-filled Walmart cart to review and check out yourself. $19/month after a 7-day free trial.

The short answer
- Mindy plans a week of dinners in chat, consolidates the ingredients into one shopping list, and fills a real Walmart cart from it.
- Overlapping ingredients across the week can bring dinners down to as low as about $0.56 a serving at Walmart prices — one real, dated example is below.
- Mindy never checks out. She hands you a claim link; you log into your own Walmart.com account, review the cart, and pay yourself.
How does an AI meal planner fill a Walmart cart?
You tell Mindy how many dinners you need this week, what cuisine sounds good, and anything to avoid. She proposes meals one at a time as cards, chosen so ingredients overlap across the week — the same bag of rice or block of cheese covers two or three dinners instead of one. Once you approve the plan, it consolidates into a single shopping list organized by grocery section, which you can still edit — remove an item, change a quantity, mark something organic, or add a one-off extra — before Mindy fills the Walmart cart. She checks every item against your saved Walmart store, and you get a link to claim the finished cart and check out on Walmart.com yourself.

What makes this different from Walmart's own Sparky assistant?
Sparky is Walmart's own in-house assistant — it finds recipes and adds items from Walmart's own catalog and promotions to your cart. It doesn't plan a whole week around overlapping ingredients, and it isn't recommending independently of the retailer that owns it. Mindy is a meal-planning assistant first: she plans the week, optimizes for cost-per-serving across the meals she picks, and only then builds the Walmart cart from that plan. According to Walmart's own Retail Rewired Report (June 2025), 47% of consumers said they'd trust a digital agent to choose and purchase household essentials within a set budget, but 46% said they were unlikely to trust an agent with an entire shopping trip. Mindy is built for the first number, not against the second — she plans and fills the cart, and you stay in charge of reviewing and paying.
Does it actually plan meals, or just build a random grocery list?
It plans meals. Mindy proposes real recipes she finds and adapts to what you asked for, not a generic grocery-list template — and she can also take a recipe or link you already have and work it into the week. The shopping list is a byproduct of the plan, consolidated from the ingredients those meals actually need, deduplicated so a shared ingredient becomes one line instead of five. That's the difference between a meal planner that shops and a shopping-list app that stalls at “here's your list, good luck.”
How much can overlapping ingredients save you?
Here is one real week, priced at Walmart on August 27, 2026: Five dinners for a family of four, as cheap as possible — beans, rice, pasta, real filling dinners.

35.5% of this cart carries forward as pantry value into next week's meals — that carry-forward is the overlapping-ingredients effect.

A second, family-sized proof point: for Five filling, kid-friendly dinners for a family of four, around $100., checked August 27, 2026, the cart subtotal came to $102.88 across 42 items — $5.14/serving per serving at checkout, with 53.1% of that cart carrying forward as pantry value for the following week. Neither figure is a promise about your week; both are one real run, dated and disclosed.
Is my Walmart account safe? Do you ever check out for me?
No — you always check out yourself
Mindy never checks out and never sees your Walmart password or payment information. She builds a claim link from your consolidated list, and you open it, log into your own Walmart.com account, review the cart, and pay yourself. This is a deliberate boundary, not a missing feature: the Food Dive/PwC 2025 CPG survey found 32% of consumers say they would never give an AI assistant full financial access, and Walmart's own research (cited above) shows people trust bounded automation far more than handing over an entire shopping trip. Mindy's job ends at a cart you still have to open and approve.
What if an item is out of stock or the wrong size?
Mindy checks each item against your saved Walmart store before handing the cart over. When something is out of stock or the wrong size for what a recipe needs, she picks a substitute sized to fit — and if nothing reasonable fits, she flags the item by name in your review list instead of silently dropping it or guessing. Either way, the cart you claim matches a list you already read and approved, and Walmart.com itself lets you swap or remove anything before you pay.
How long does it take to go from “plan my meals” to a ready cart?
Planning happens in chat, at your pace — a few minutes of back and forth to land on a week you actually want to cook. Once you approve the plan and consolidate the list, Mindy shops in the background; you don't need to watch. When the cart is ready, you get an email and an in-app notification with the claim link.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Walmart account already?
Yes. Mindy builds the cart against your saved Walmart store, but you claim it by logging into your own Walmart.com account and checking out yourself. Mindy never holds your Walmart password.
Can I swap a meal before the cart is built?
Yes. You review and approve every meal card during planning, before the list is consolidated. Once you approve the plan, meal planning is over and the list moves to review-and-shop.
Does it work with any Walmart store, or just delivery?
Mindy prices and fills the cart against the Walmart store you pick by zip code during signup. Pickup or delivery is your choice on Walmart.com at checkout.
What if I don't like a substitution?
The claimed cart is editable on Walmart.com like any other cart — remove or swap an item before you pay. Mindy also flags an item by name in your review list rather than silently swapping or dropping it.
Is this cheaper than Walmart+ or Instacart?
Walmart+ and Instacart are delivery memberships layered on top of whatever you buy — they don't plan meals or reduce your grocery bill on their own. MindyCart is $19/month for the planning and cart-building; the grocery bill itself is set by what you ask Mindy to plan. Overlapping-ingredient weeks can land as low as about $0.56 a serving at Walmart prices — see how we calculate for the math.
